The thurifer Juniper, a hardy tree of great longevity covers the Atlas high
peaks. Above, there are only thorny verophytes. Thurifers,
covering about 30,000 ha are pre-steppic essentially, with older trees
attaining large dimensions (up to 5 m in diameter). The fauna
associated with them is rather similar to that of the oxycedrus.
