Pan-African Workshop on Access to genetic resources and Benefit Sharing (ABS)
The Secretariat of State in charge of Water and Environment organizes, in close collaboration with the High Commissariat for Water, Forests and Combat against Desertification and the "Initiative for Capacity Building for Access to genetic resources and Benefit Sharing in Africa", a Pan-African workshop on ABS.

The objectives of this workshop are:
- Provide a forum for dialogue between key players in the Protocol on ABS and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
- To update participants on the Protocol of ABS and the evolution and status of negotiations at WIPO and WTO.
- Make an inventory of national and regional concerns on the political, technical and administrative details regarding the correspondence between IPR and ABS.
- Examine the connections between the regulation of the APA and the IPR based on a case of bio-prospecting in Morocco (Argan).
