Scientific research conducted by the Hydrobiologist Prof. Mohamed GHAMIZI, director of the Natural History Museum of Marrakech-Cadi Ayyad University, led to the discovery of a new stygobiont hydrobiid specimen living in groundwater in the Rif region of Morocco.

It should be remembered that the Hydrobiidaes is a family composed of small molluscs that live in fresh and brackish water.
