Sebkha Zima

Salty wetland representing a true endorheic continental sebkha system. The site has great ornithological value, both for wintering and for breeding, despite the fact that it has undergone profound transformations, knowing that it is the subject of salt exploitation, based on excessive drainage.

It is an important site for the recharge of the groundwater. This sebkha constitutes one of the most important continental ecosystems for halophilic vegetation with the notable presence of two endemic Moroccan-Algerian species, Halopeolis amplicaulis and Spergularia tenuifolia, rare in Morocco. In addition, six endangered or vulnerable bird species frequent the site during the winter period: Marmaronetta angustirostris teal, Marmaronetta angustirostris, Tadorna ferruginea, Pink flamingo, Phoenicopterus ruber, Pink flamingo, Phoenicopterus ruber, ruber, and ruber, pink flamingo, Phoenicopterus ruber,, ruber,, ruber,, ruber,, pink, pink, Phoenicopterus ruber, the, the, the, the, the ruber tree, the, the, the, the, the belon shelly, Tadorna tadorna, tadorna, tadorna, tadorna, tadorna, tadorna, tadorna, torna.
