Bou Naceur (SIBE no.
It is a high Jurassic limestone mountain that culminates at 3340 m the highest peaks of the Middle Atlas. More arid southern slope with very rugged relief at the south-western limit, exceptional landscape site with the Atchana circus.
This SIBE, with an area of 14,000 ha, contains numerous endemic floristic elements: 60 species, 19 subspecies and 13 endemic Moroccan varieties out of a total of 556 species, 68 families and 283 genera for the country. Among the ecosystems we find: the Cedar forest which is withering, very degraded and its regeneration almost absent, Thuriferary: a very degraded, extinct state, absent regeneration, the Green Oak: very degraded, regeneration absent, absent regeneration, Xerophytes: not very degraded and the Summit Lawn: rich in floristic elements. We note that the floristic biodiversity is exceptionally high on the peaks.
Below is the SIBE technical sheet according to the HCEFLCD,1996 Master Plan:
- Coordinates: 33°35'N - 3°52'W.
- Card references: 1/100,000 — BERKINE.

- Aleppo pine forest.
The SIBE contains numerous endemic floristic elements: 60 species, 19 subspecies and 13 endemic Moroccan varieties out of a total of 556 species, 68 families and 283 genera for the country Fauna:
- 15 mammal species were encountered within the limits of the SIBE under consideration and 10 in the immediate vicinity; for a total of 25 species known at present for the entire region. In addition, 6 species whose presence is probable are to be sought. The large fauna that populated the massif in the past is fairly well known but its current status remains to be specified (probable relatively recent disappearance of the Panther and the Hyena, possible maintenance of some Caracal Lynx, Mouflons and Cuvier's Gazelle). Small fauna, on the other hand, is very poorly known and remains largely to be explored, in particular Chiroptera.
- 9 interesting, endemic or rare or endangered species should be noted.
- 69 species of birds nest throughout the region; while 4 species likely to nest in the region are to be sought.
- Some species with a steppe or desert affinity enter the region through the eastern steppe slopes of Jbel Bou Naceur (Desert Ammomane, Desert Wheatear, Courvite Isabelle, Common Ganga), thus constituting a unique set in Morocco.
- 23 interesting, endemic or rare or endangered species should be noted.
- 10 reptile species are known for the entire region. In addition, 10 species whose presence is probable are to be sought. Region that is both very varied and poorly explored, especially at high altitudes. Consequently, understanding the composition of the herpetofauna is difficult and subject to speculation.
- 8 interesting, endemic or rare or endangered species are noted there:

- Thuriferary: Very degraded state, extinct, regeneration absent
- Green oak: very degraded, regeneration absent

- Exceptionally high floristic biodiversity on the peaks
