Aguelmam Sidi Ali and Aguelmam N'Tifounassine

It is a complex of mountain wetlands included in the same watershed (Haut Guigou). It is composed of two permanent lakes (Aguelmam Sidi Ali and Aguelmam Tifounassine), a high plain river (Oued Guigou) and a large cold resurgence (Aghbalou Aberchane). In addition to some rare bird species that it hosts, this complex is important for many invertebrates.

The two lakes play a major role in the sustainability of Guigou and the control of floods. Among the remarkable forms encountered in the area, there are two endemic or rare species: Ribes uva-crispa var. microcephala and Genista pseudopilosa. The two lakes represent privileged sites for the nesting of rare or vulnerable species: Tadorna ferruginea (regular sedentary breeder), Fulica cristata (sedentary breeder) and the purple heron Ardea purpurea. Two other endemic species of global importance nest in the immediate vicinity of the lake, these are the Levaillant's Peak Picus vaillantii and the Moussier Redstart Phoenicurcus moussieri.
